Parts of a Refrigerator

There aren’t too many houses that do not feature a refrigerator in the kitchen. It’s been a must-have household appliance for several years now. A household refrigerator stores food at the optimal temperature, to reduce spoilage and limit harmful bacteria. The process of refrigeration starts by moving the warmth from the interior of the unit to the exterior, by relying on principles of condensation and evaporation.

The standard components of a refrigerator are. For questions or service call Sterling Appliance Repair:

The compressor is a combo of a pump and a motor, and it is need for circulation of refrigerant dispersed in the cooling system.
A compressor is an important part of a refrigerator. You should hire a professional company if the compressor stops working.

A refrigerator condenser is located on the back outside panel of the appliance and helps to disperse the warmth collected from within the refrigerator out in the surrounding air.

The refrigerator evaporator is located in the interior of a refrigerator where it absorbs the warmth contained within it, effectively lowering the temperature inside.

The moment the evaporator stops working, it’s time to call a professional. Don’t wait until it’s too late.

Expansion Device

Liquified coolant is carried through a capillary tube which acts as an expansion tool as it cools the gas, turning it into liquid.

A refrigerator thermostat regulates the current temperature within a refrigerator, beginning a new cooling period as needed.

How Does Refrigeration Work?

1. The moment the temperature in the interior of the refrigerator is above the set point sensors notify the compressor to begin, and the next cooling period starts. The refrigerator collects the cool liquid refrigerant, then pressurizes and condenses the liquid, and increases the temperature, so it can turn into a gas form.

2. The compressor unit directs the heated gas towards the condenser coils on the exterior of the unit, where it comes in contact with warmer air temperature in the kitchen and returns back to a liquid form.

3. The cool refrigerant then continues on its journey to the evaporator, finding its way through the many coils within the appliance and top freezer.

4. The coolant then absorbs the hot air from within the appliance, thereby reducing the temperature until it has reached the correct final point.

5. The refrigerant evaporates, and turns back into a gas form, and then returns to the refrigerator compressor in order to continue the cooling cycle.

Refrigeration technology is used in quite a few applications and household appliances, including heat pumps, AC units, refrigerators and residential freezers. By extracting warmth from one location and moving it to another the continuous cycle of refrigeration aids in cooling your house, creates a safe environment for food that is perishable, and also helps with manufacturing and storage of a number of different products and goods.
